What is the Solar Alliance of Ontario?
Solar Alliance of Ontario is a new advocacy organization for the province’s solar photovoltaic (PV) industry. SAO was founded in August 2011 by a broad-based group of industry leaders with one very focused mission:
To advocate for accelerated and stable growth of Ontario’s PV market and thus the furtherance of the province’s global leadership in this key sector of the clean energy economy.
Ontario is the fastest-growing solar PV market in the world. To effectively promote the solar sector, we need an association that is focused only on the Ontario market, and solely on PV. The stakes are high, the opportunities are great.
Other advocacy associations championed solar’s cause successfully in the early phases, but now we need a new organization. Details on SAO's leadership, objectives, membership structure, etc. will be announced in early 2012.
